Get Phoxed! Watch Monica Martin's new project with Violents
PHOX fans are feeling a little better today with the release of Monica Martin's new project with producer Jeremy Larson aka Violents. Awake and Pretty Much Sober is a 10-track journey through the ups and downs of human relationships. Larson's lush orchestral arrangements with synth-heavy backing complement Martin's dreamy whimsical vocal style. While a departure from PHOX's indie-folk pop, the album shows a maturity and depth that explores new territory for the Madison songstress. The duo played its first New York show on April 26th at Rough Trade Records. No other dates are planned at this time, but we think a Madison gig should be mandatory.
