Kishi Bashi set to bring multi-instrumental prowess to Madison

KishiBashi

Kishi Bashi
is the project of Athens, Georgia resident Kaoru Ishibashi, who comes to Madison on the heels of his latest album "Sonderlust," produced by Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear. Ishibashi is a classically trained violinist and multi-instrumentalist who recorded and toured with Regina Spektor, of Montreal, Sondre Lerche and Jupiter One before launching a solo career. He can be seen live using a wide variety of instruments and effects including keyboards, violin, a loop machine and beatbox all rolled up into a cauldron of intriguing sound. The new album focuses more on the electronic side of Ishibashi's personality.

Kishi Bashi is a full-band experience with some surprises from a show perspective including stage props according to recent reviews. If you're looking for an experimental lift this week that pushes boundaries in the best sonic landscape way check out Kishi Bashi at the High Noon Saloon Monday night.
